Sketch/Planning Instructions: 1. You must write a paragraph explaining what type of bridge you will be modeling. (Examples: arch bridge, suspension bridge, beam bridge) Even if you are choosing to model a real-life example of a bridge, you must tell what kind of bridge you are going to model. You can use your text pages 204 - 211 to find more information on different types of bridges or research on-line. 2. Sketch a plan. What do you plan your model to look like? Use labels! 3. Write a detailed list of materials that you will need to construct your model.
Instructions from November 12, 2010 (Research & Notes -- Day 1): 1. Form a small group of 2 - 3 people for the bridge project. You will work with this group for the duration of the entire project. You may work alone if you choose. 2. Begin your research by reading text pages 204 - 208. Read the "Social Studies Activity" on p. 208. 3. Choose a bridge to research. Your bridge does not have to be the Brooklyn Bridge. Take notes that answer the suggested questions under the "Social Studies Activity". Write down any additional notes that you feel are important. These notes will be turned in with your final project.
Your final project will be due on Friday, December 3, 2010.
